Welcome
I’ve been involved in MMORPG’s in one form or another since ’93. Everything from text-based MUDs to the tactical Battletech games which were done on a hex grid (also text) before graphics became the rave. When Ultima Online went into Beta I then entered the realm of retail games online. Since that time I’ve played nearly every one published, looking for that perfect game which I never grew tired of. I found it, and EVE Online happens to be that very game. EVE possesses what I consider a rare quality that many other games lack, and that is the simple fact you literally can’t cap out on things to do. And there is always something to do in EVE at any hour of the day. You can occupy your time with manufacturing, mining, ratting, mission running, trading, or any number of PVP variations. Plus you aren’t required to be in a group to succeed in EVE, in fact a solo player has just as much potential to excel as one who’s in a large corporation or alliance.
My own personal experience in EVE has taken me from a meager beginning with friends in an Empire corporation that mined and produced ships to sell on the market to becoming a director in one of the most successful alliances in the game today. I’ve mined, run missions, manufactured ships, managed numerous POS structures, researched blueprints, and PVP’d in every way imaginable. Well, almost. I’ve never lived the life of a lowsec pirate.
